Redeem and gift codes in Belgium. No online payments

Hello steam and everybody else who may be able to give some info.

First let me explain the situation ...

I have recently started playing on a certain HL2DM server, I like the place very much and got into more than one pleasant converstation about old games.
I already own most of the offical HL1 versions that are released many moons ago and want to expand my collection a bit. I could register all my old boxed versions online, but 1 (*), and have most if not all already installed. Great service here steam. I bow in thou general direction.
The shops, the ones listed on steam, that sell redeem/gift codes do not seem to be available in my country and I can not find any info anywhere that shows where I can purchase these codes in my country.

I do not do online payment for personal reasons and I never will neither (let's not even talk about this as my mind is made up and nothing you say or do will change my mind on the subject).

Now I want to buy for myself the Orange Box and Garry's mod while I want to give my friend HL2 (perhaps instead orange box if he prefers that over HL2 alone so he too has some games to trade and/or give away; what he picks is entirely up to him, I am paying).

How do I proceed ???

Option 1:
I get info where to get codes in belgium.

Option 2:
My friend lives in germany, If I know that he can buy these codes near his place I am willing to send him the money needed IRL so he can buy and give me what I want while at the same time he would be buying what he wants.

Option 3:
Steam provides me a bank account number to which I transfer money, they put it in my account to my account and I use the credits as normal.

Option 4:
We go via a third party (also a reliable friend who lives in germany) who does do online payments. Read: I send him the money, he buys and gives us the games we want.
This complicates things even more ... and would only be the last option, we still need to ask him if all else falls through.

Option 5:
Workshop would be an option but it would be a shame if I can not take advantage of the current 75% off offer for Garry's mod (I will still buy it even when the deal is over)
Also I want these games now, anything workshop related can and will be of use latere now that I know of this possibilty.

My prefference would ofcourse be option 1 or 3 as that way I stay in control over my money at all times.
Note that any scamming issues are not on the table here ... both of the friends I am talking about above are admins on the server I play on and I aplied too for the same position.
Also it is I myself wo offered to pay, I have not been asked.



(*) Whenever I try to register Gunman Chronicles it says the code is part of of my Game of the year edition of HL1, this is not true as I have bought it seperatly later on ... yes boxed too. Also I can not find this game in my account neither, maybe I am just overlooking something here ... advice please?
I could have made a seperate thread for this and if that is prefered I will. ;)

I have the same problem buying MineCraft ... I am dying to give Notch and his team my moneyz in order to acquire an official account but I would not know where to get one for the same reason I made this post.
Any advice on the matter here would be appreciated too.

Dear Sierra/Valve/Steam (yes, I was playing your games already when you was still Sierra).
Having to register a boxed version before it even wants to start ... bad bad move really. This only punishes the honest clients as bad (if not more) than DRM does.
Crackers (not hackers ... I am a hacker and proud to be one) just continue playing their stolen games as much as before not bothered with whatever you come up with to stop them.
I have my account since 2010 but refused to use anything steam related untill now for this very reason.
Don't get me wrong I have loved (and still do) everything you guys do and if I had the proffesional skills I would not think twice before applying for a job at your place (well understood from my home as I have kids I do not want to leave behind and I do not want to live in the states ever);
But me buying HL episode 1 and 2, and not noticing the register online note on the box (I was too exited with my new purchase for that), way before I registered my copies, to then let them sit there collecting dust for a few years, because I had no internet at that time, made me very very very upset. And that is just mildly expressing my true feelings about this isue.

Also please do not be offended by the previous pps Sierra/Valve/Steam peeps, it is just explaining how I felt in an honest way, and still do, but continuing not using your services like I did for the past few years is only punishing myself.

They sell them in all those countries but you'd have to check the site for a list of store locations.

They usually sell them behind the counter, they aren't actual "cards" but just codes they print off for you on a receipt. That's what they're like here, at least.

Try to checkout a game and make sure it's on your list of payment options first, though. :)

Now that is the answer I really needed and could not find myself, to add a bit to my akwardity, I run my browsers without JavaScript nor cookies for more personal reasons I am willing to elaborate about but will not unless in privevate, soI would have never ever found that myself.

I found more than one place near my current location, in fact my bike can stay where it is.
I'll go on foot and if it were not because of having something to do first I would be registering my Orange Box between this and 20 minutes from now depending on haow many people are in there before me and the fact that most shops do not open untill in 10 minutes.

What I really missed in this discussion is someone Valve employed telling me this, he would have only have had o read the topic title and nothing more to be able to answer my question.


Not that I do not appreciate your help, I will be grateful to you forever ... as I can be one little happy camper and continue as I were.

Is there any game at all up untill 20 euros I can give you, please do not hesitate to say, you will receive it today unless my connection gets cut before I do so , It will happen and it might last a few days.
If you prefer just a code that is worth 20 than that is fine too. you can thank me later by posting screenies of you playing the game I bought you and bringing those to my attention (maybe add me on steam so I see them automatically, Dont worry, I will not be bohering you with questions in the chat or following your every move or anything like that ... I am not a stalker).

The offer still stands untill I actually leave for that shop right around the corner ... that is in +- 4 hours.

I can now even buy MineCrast and do so much more I deprived myself from out of principle. This thanks to you and you alone. ;)

In fact I am so happy now that I will just make someone else happy in your honour if you refuse my offer, which I will not force you to accept.
Untill I reach 20 euros I will keep giving and I will even show peeps this thread before I give people games ...

Canti, Just a little update on this thread,

Like mentioned earlier in this thread my friend had acquired HL2 himself by the time I was able to give it to him and I felt pretty bad about this, I really really did.
When I asked him what he wanted instead he mentioned ep1 and ep2.

I gave him my extra version of ep1 (which is all I received to give away despite there being more games in the orange box I had already) and I added episode 2 too (for which I now have payed three times as apparently you can buy a game as many times as you want without receiving the extra copies on steam).

Ofcourse no HL collection is complete without HL1 so I searched, found and bought him HL1Anthology as cherry on the top, without him knowing what was comming.

My friend is very very very very very very happy about this as now I have given him six games instead of one and he does not know what to do with himself from happiness nor has he a clue what game he should play first.
He already posted 121 screenies for me to gaze on and as cherry on the cake I just found out he is only 16 which is even better. (I really thought he was 22 or so by the way he acts and talks)

Long story longer,
He is happy, I am happy because he is happy, Valve is even happier for having sold a few games again they did not have to deliver, which I am not too happy about, and you are happy I hope because I made someone else happy in your honour.
Now I am waiting for someone to suggest me someone to spend my last 6.54 euros on so he can be happy too.
In the future I will remain happy because I will no longer allow to be cheated out of my money by some happy big company that already is filthy rich, but cant seem to get enough.
But I will be happy anyway when I get my hands on MineCraft, which I will buy directly from Notch who hopefully happily accept my money in a normal way; if not I will still be happy because april 1st the new stable version of my favorite game all times is coming out, happily developed, released and translated in 54 languages, given away completely free of charge with a big happy happy smile on the Devs faces. I will then happily be giving them 60 euros despite having happily received all versions, past present and future, for free.

Seems like everybody is happy in the end besides me feeling quite sore in the genital region. :P
