Please help. Why can't I kill the giant? (Tomb Raider)

Hello! I have here a small problem and I hope you can help me.

(Sorry for my English, I am from Germany.)

At the moment I play the mission "missing" and now I'm aboard of the Endurance. Here I have bumped into two normal opponents and one giant. The normal enemies were no problem. However all the same what I make - the giant cannot be simply killed!
As the first I have injured him with the evasive action, then headshot, then attacked him with the ax and then the stroke "press F" lights up.
It does not matter how often, how briefly, how long or when I "F" press... after all always comes the intersequence where me the giant packs in the throat and slings.

I play the place since approximately 3/4 of an hour and am slowly really depressed.

Josi,
When the "press F" lights up you need to wait for the circle to close, then hit F right at the moment when it is smallest, you don't need to mash it. Then you will need to do that 2 more times, 2 more strikes in a row, just wait for the prompts. I did this for 30 minutes or so trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. It is all about getting the timing just right.

When you say "Press F lights up" you mean subtitle or an exclamation mark icon?

ich weiss ja nicht ob du mit dem 360 controller oder maus/tastatur spielst. also wenn du ihn soweit hast, musst du nur noch den richtigen moment abwarten, ihn legen und "F" drücken, anschließend dem kombo der eingeblendet wird, timing is wichtig, wenn die beiden kreise sich treffen! ich denke die stelle ist etwas buggy, ich habe auch alles richtig gedrückt, musste es trotzdem 3 x machen. du hast nur n kurzes zeitfenster, aber es sollte zu schaffen sein.

I don't know if anyone already answered the question. If you already get to that part of the game you already know how to use the Quick Time Events (When you have to push the button on screen). You have to weaken the guy not only with the QTE but also by shooting in his head (I used the shotgun). After a few you can finish him with two last QTE.

Oh man.. das gestaltet sich echt als schwieriger, als angenommen.
