After you have purchased a digital copy of a game for yourself, it will be added to your steam library. You can then install it.
If you ever decide to uninstall the game, it's the same procedure for reinstalling: the game will appear in your games library, but it will be greyed out (instead of white) and if you click on that game you will see an 'install' button.
If you click that button, the game will download itself from steam and re-install. Remember that some games can require a very large download, though, up to 10 or 20 GB.
