Steam works fine, but Steam Store doesn't load or takes too long.
As the title says. I can go to my library, discussions, even my profile with ease. But store fails to load half the time or takes forever to load. I have tried rebooting, rebooting steam, clearing out the CLIENT blob file, you name it. Store still has the same problems. Any ideas?

Windows 8 64-bit
Steam parked on SSD drive, games on secondary reg HD.
Virus scanners have Steam on ignore, PeerBlock is turned off.

Well as the community and the Store are not on the same server (i know from the summer sale that the Community work when the store was overloading)
So it may be a store problem maybe overload... of guys waiting for the Halloween sell

Yeah, it loads. But sometimes it doesn't at all. I was just worried that my steam install got screwed up somehow. It's been like this for the last few days.

Oh, and meant to add that Steam has always worked fine before, I'm actually one of the first Steam users there was (HL2 was sooo long ago...).

Yeah, its working now. When I click on the link it works. I will try rebooting Steam again and see if it loads the store without clicking the link. Hmm, wonder if maybe spyware has something to do with this, I don't use IE at ALL, Firefox ftw.

Hmm, store is taking forever to load even when I click on the link. I am trying to think of why its doing this. Going to scan for spyware and see what comes up, I've checked my virus scanner and nothing is out of the ordinary.

did you open it on the browser and not only from with in steam?
just to be clear

The only time i had this is when my dns was acting up. As a test i changed to open dns and all the functions on steam. (store, community etc) started working fine again.

If its still an issue you could try open dns just as a test. it only takes a few mins to setup.

Yeah, just tried it in both Firefox and Chrome, nothing loads, no errors either. Wonder if it's Comcast having a hissy fit like it did with youtube videos several months ago.

What I would do to have Google fiber come to Atlanta.....

Try switching dns and report back.

Changed the DNS servers in my router, seems to be working. I will respond again if it stalls or doesnt load like last time.
