Xbox One Controller No Longer Compatible for some Games please help
I have been using my Xbox One Controller (corded) since I started playing on steam. Obviously there are some games that were never compatible using the controller - fine.

Since the latest steam update, I am finding games where I am no longer able to use my xbox one controller. Games that I have already beaten and should be compatible are no longer compatible, especially when it says my controller is compatible for this game on the game screen in my library. Examples: prince of persia series, dark siders, list goes on...some of these games I have beaten using the very same controller.

Attempts to fix this issue:

Full reset on windows.
Updated firmware and tested my xbox one controller and is working.
Tested a dual shock logitech controller - having the same issues.
Can use my controller on some games in my steam library such as AVGN, Virginia, and To the Moon.
No controller applications such as DS4Windows or x360ce on my windows.
My pc is running the most updated form of windows and steam.
Set controller settings in big picture mode and external gamepad settings so Xbox One controller is the only one enabled.

If it makes any difference, my xbox one controller is the original corded type - meaning the cord can be disconnected at the controller.

Any advice on this?

go into settings and uncheckmark all the controller types except xbox type. If not, try setting it up in big picture mode.
