Or putting a sign out on front window that says "COME ON IN AND ROB MY PLACE". Almost the same thing about posting going on vacation on social media. You can look on facebook for example to see when people go on vacation, or football players playing in big games and go steal from their houses..lol.
Same thing happened to OP.
Go to Steam Support:
Visit Steam Support and select "I can't sign in".
Choose the "My Account was hijacked or I can’t access my account" option.
Verify Your Ownership:
Steam will ask you to provide proof of account ownership. This could include:
The email address associated with your account.
Any purchase history or transaction receipts related to your account.
Information related to your Steam Guard or mobile authentication (if set up).
If you still have access to your email or phone, you can use those for verification.
Follow the Steps for Account Recovery:
If you no longer have access to the email associated with your account, you can select the "I no longer have access to my email address" option. Steam Support will guide you through the recovery process.
Check for Suspicious Activity:
If your account was hacked, there could be changes to your account such as a changed password or email address. Be sure to report these in the recovery form. Also, check for any suspicious purchases or trades in your account.
Use the Steam Support Contact Form:
After filling out the necessary details, you’ll be given an option to submit a ticket. Steam will typically respond within a few days to help you recover the account.
Additional Tips:
Enable Steam Guard: Once your account is recovered, make sure to enable Steam Guard and consider using the Mobile Authenticator for added security.
Change Email and Password: If your email was compromised, make sure to reset its password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
Check Payment Methods: If your payment methods were linked to the account, monitor them for any unauthorized transactions.
If this doesn’t work or you don’t receive a response, keep submitting a request via the support page.
I hope this helps get your account back on track! If you found this useful, please consider supporting me. Stay safe!
