Messages in chat remains for 14 days, after that they get deleted automatically on their own.

Unfriending them will not remove messages that were sent.

Just because you don't instantly get a response doesn't mean you're banned.
There's no such thing as a "shadowban" either.
If you're banned you can't post at all.

If you unfriend them, they won't be able to see the chat log. so even if the message is still there, they can't see what you sent.

Wait until a month just to be safe and you can add them again. the message should be gone by then.

I believe there was a law/rule/ask about storing for all messages for a couple months, even user deleted ones. I believe it was some weird rule in the USA and EU. But I can't for the life of me remember the name of said rule or if it's not something my brain just made up. :P

It's not the same one as the one about invoices. That one is real…and I also don't remember the name of that one. :I

I’m asking because this is the 4th time i needed help in the discussions without any interactions. plus people already answered that question so you don’t really have to.
