Nvidia app vs Geforce experience - is the new app better?
i am holding on to my geforce experience as i've not had a problem with my games and dont want to mess it up with the new one if it causes problems.
have people had better or worse experiences with the new nvidia app? should i try and hold on to geforce experience and deny the update?

Tried both. New one works as well as the old while featuring new features.

As is always with such things, you can ask people but you will always get varied responses. Some peoploe say to never use such apps to begin with, for example.

If you don't want to mess things up, why switch apps?

You won't have much of a choice later anyway. Geforce Experience is getting deprecated, and the old Nvidia controlpanel is being merged fully with it at a later date. To answer your question; The new Nvidia app is miles better than Geforce Experience simply because it doesn't require logins to use. It's also much faster and has new features, so there's no reason to use GFE unless you have some specific issues with the new one.

does the new app use up cpu or gpu resources, causing the fan to go loud needlessly? thanks

Lacks features like Video cropping and sharing.

I avoid them both. I only need GPU driver; I don’t want any bundled software.

Does anyone ever have issues trying to clip or instant replay with a game and the overlay bugs out and doesn’t save the duration of the recording?

I saw no difference in it. Not even really about how the app operates. It still has all the same things + a bit of new stuff and the buttons got moved around a bit. To me this doesn't look like a new program as much as it only looks like a new name.

in my experience the Nvidia app is lacking, it dosnt support a lot of my games and the filters are not working in most games, had them working once and then there was an update, now they dont work again. im reverting to GeForce Experience.

It's dreadful for recording games, as it randomly stops recording.
Also the icons for instant replay and manual recording are so confusing.
The green light was a perfect indicator that you were recording.

I've had to go back to Geforce Experience, Nvidia app is too unpredictable.

My fear is that GeForce Experience might end up with security flaws as it is no longer updated, and that could force me to switch to the worse Nvidia App.

And if they dont make the Nvidia App to meet the standards of the GeForce Experience, then i will just have to get an AMD card next time.

the new app like the old app is farming info so NgreedyA can sell it.....its reason 442 of why im never buying a NgreedyA card again......

I use my PC for work and the Nvidia app has better features for this purpose. However, I had to go back to using GeForce because the GameStreamer feature was removed from the Nvidia app. I really like this feature to use it with Moonlight.

just came back to Ansel after a year or so because after all, it's the easiest way to record stuff (don't remember why I uninstalled it in the first place, I guess I had performance issues and have read that GeForce could cause them) just to get greated with a "yeah, sorry I don't activate you the overlay because something something driver" and when trying to update the drivers it failed the installation. and after a manual and clean installation if got grated with this new interface.

At first I thought, it's nothing special, just a new look and name, but soon got greated with the statistics hud, I couldn't dissble. Turns out you are forced to have a keybind for it, which I hate, because it kind of blocks this key from ANY other app. And you can't even costumize what it shows, means besides the FPS it always shows gpu/cpu% and something with LAT. And FPS and LAT are not even working. They are just N/A.

I don't even gonna test how they have changed the recording and stuff.
At this point I don't even have the patience to take the time to get used to the new overlay.
I guess will do whatever it takes to get GeForce Experience working again.

[edit]: After installing the new drivers manually I could just uninstall the app and reinstall experience. Luckily, Nvidia still has the download links up and running. you just need to have the right website languages. (if your webseite is in german for example, you get automatically redirected to the new app.)
