Steam Remote Play - No Sound Issue

Hi, as title says, playing with friends over Steam Remote Play now seem to not forward any sounds to other players connecting to my SRP session, any fix?

Running Steam Client Beta ATM if that changes anything..

Hi, I was looking if someone else have reported similar problem. I don't have sound on remote play since wednesday evening or so. I have tested it on windows and Linux. It's all the same. I have tried with someone else to be a host and reverse but there is no sound at all.

Same here. I was playing with a friend last week, and we were able to play while having sounds with no problem.
Recently, whenever I join a game with my friend on Remote Play, I have no sound at all.

I found though an oddity where the mixer of audio from the window was setting volume to 0 on the Streaming client, but even setting it to max volume still doesn't play any sound (and the mixer volume setting persists after re-opening the client).

Even going on Advanced Host Options and ticking "Play audio on host" changes nothing.

Same here could not find a workaround. I thought it would have to do with elgato wave link mixing, but even after exiting program I had the same issue and it seems other people have same problems. Running WIN 11, here for reference.

Ok so Remote Play Together I tried everything possible for the client connecting to me to get sound but nothing. I can get sound for Remote Play if streaming from my laptop or desktop to either device so that works. People can watch my Broadcast and they get Sound so that works. If my Friend Hosts a game and i join through Remote Play Together the Sound works for me there too. But On both my Desktop and Laptop 2 different systems one has Windows 10 and the other Windows 11 when I Host for Remote Play Together with my friends they get no sound. So what is up with that? Is the sound issue tied directly to our accounts where some work and some don't for Remote Play Together. All I know and i did every fix possible and Still having the Issue for months now and before all this crap my remote play worked fine with my games like River City Girls and other games but now nothing and that was before messing with any settings. I don't think it is fair to the people who buy these games that they don't actually own in the end and can't even use a feature that is suppose to be with some of these games to play with friends. Valve Please fix the issue or at least look into it.

All players should change Steam to Beta Verison and then sound is OK.

Thank you that worked for me by joining the Steam Beta version from Settings -> Interface -> Client Beta Participation drop down window. My friend is using the none beta version but as a client now he said he has sound when I host Remote Play Together. It just seems that the host needs the Steam Beta Version if planning on having people connect to them through Remote Play Together. Anyways Thanks again lukulus77, it has been like this for months.

Write a bug report to steam support about the issue. The more tickets from everybody they get the more likely the bug may be adressed and fixed in the future. That means one ticket per person or account though. No multiple tickets.

Actually many people are being affected by this bug. I have seen many posts about this on help and support and even in other places on steam. Best thing everyone can do is report it on steam support and write a ticket about it.
