Share ban
My brother got banned in a game called CSGO on steam. I want to family share with him so I can get a game, if I do that will I also get banned in CSGO?
Or will i only get banned if we are sharing and whilst we are sharing he gets banned?

VAC bans will not transfer from one account to another account due to a previous infraction, but any new infraction could cause a VAC ban when Family Library Sharing. So the second part of what you asked is how it works.

"What if a borrower is caught cheating or committing fraud while playing my shared games?"

Your Family Sharing privileges may be revoked and your account may also be VAC banned if a borrower cheats or commits fraud. In addition, not all VAC protected games are shareable. We recommend you only authorize familiar Steam Accounts and familiar computers you know to be secure. And as always, never give your password to anyone.

If you receive a VAC ban, you will be unable to share any VAC protected games.

On my family share history it says that I have history with sharing with my brothers account. So if he gets banned again will I get banned? I disabled family share and I pressed remove on his account, but it still says I have history with him.

As far as I know, as long as you have disabled Family Library Sharing with your brother's account, then your account should not be VAC banned if his account gets another VAC ban.

He can no longer share any VAC protected games anyway, according to the Support page.

Feel free to wait for someone else to reply to the thread, but it should not matter that there is a message saying you have history with sharing with your brother's account. I don't use Family Library Sharing so I am unfamiliar with the message showing you have history with his account, sorry.

If you are no longer sharing, that's fine. History is irrelevant.

From the new Steam Familes beta, bans don't share after the infraction occurred and...
