Access is only restricted to your account. You can install steam and all your games on as many pcs as you like.

thanks, we have 2 pcs, both with stream accounts, so if i was to purchase age of empires for instance i could download it onto both pcs
As Eram said Steam does not put a limit on that, however third party DRMs with activation limits are not in Steam's control, so inform yourself beforehand.

Both accounts must own the game, mind you.

You can also download the game on one PC, use the Backup feature and restore the Backup on the other machine to save time and bandwith.

Make sure that the game is not in this list: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Big_List_of_3rd_Party_DRM_on_Steam Just use ctrl+F

If it's not there you can install how many times you want.

If it is there, read about the DRM and how it works, it may just be a minor thing like an EA account may be needed.

No, putting into two accounts may be a problem.

When you purchase a game on Steam, you're purchasing a license to run the game through the account that you purchased it on. If you want the game on another account, you'll need to rebuy the game on that second account.

Only one can be connected to Steam at a time.

If you want to play at the same time, two accounts and two purchases of the game are needed.

Will not work.

There is family sharing, but that still means only one copy of the game can be used at the same time.

It sounds like the OP wants to play with a friend using only one copy. Needless to say; that won't work. He/she will have to buy another copy on a second account.

You're confusing PCs with Steam accounts. You can download the game on an unlimited number of PCs, theoretically, but a copy of a game is only usable on the account on which it was registered (purchased or gifted).

I have a problem where I want to download my purchased games to my new computer, but can't. Where do I need to be looking?

If the account owns the game, you'll see it on your library (except F2P games, you have to install them), no matter which computer you're on.

If you can't, you might have logged in with a different account. Otherwise, if you see the games but you just can't download them, the PC/network might have limitations (overzealous AVs, Firewalls, etc).
