I want Steam to launch on windows startup, but stay in the background; I feel like the startup impact has doubled with this update. I don't want to mess around in RegEdit, and I don't want to add scripts from random people; I just want built-in functionality.
Steam just needs to add one more toggle switch under "Run Steam when my computer starts" that says "Launch Steam in background." Problem fixed.

♥♥♥♥ Valve and their greed.
From steam default: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -silent
To: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" "-silent"
That is, I added "" around the -silent. That workes for me atleast.
(Windows 11)

They literally turned my computer into their advertisement billboard without my permission!
How laws even allowing this kind of privacy violations???
No, seriously?
Popping up on my desktop without my permission is like entering someone's house without owner's permission!
And it seems like they have no intention to fix this problem at all!
I'm not experiencing this because I'm using the old UI and forcing Steam to minimize when it starts up. Here is how to do that:

welcome to the world of no right to ownership.
its utterly ridiculous that the only solutions to this is either downgrading your steam or some janky auto script written by a stranger (no offense, im sure you worked hard on it). i PAID for my game, when i bought it there were no disclaimers that you would give me a ad every time i try to use the program i PAID for. there isnt any way to turn it off within steam, which in my eyes is a violation of so many of the supposed "vales" that steam has tried to strive for in the industry. for a company that preaches about linux and the right to open source, easily modified, individually controlled code, this is downright evil. valve, get you ♥♥♥♥ in order, im no joke considering epic for most games these days cause they genuinely have a better store than you, and dont show me ads every time i try and boot up a game i OWN. fix this or you will lose business
Also i see people mentioning ads. Is that a new thing. I havent noticed it yet.
