Can you stop the friends list from popping up on login with the client changes?
I don't use the friend list. My settings make it so I don't log into the chat/friends section of the site when I start Steam, and I don't ever need it popping up as a window when I'm on Steam. Previously there was a simple setting that made it so this popup window didn't automatically pop up on every login. Now it's back, showing a prompt for me to login to chat. It's a minor annoyance, but it's still irritatting to have to close this useless (to me) pop up window evey time I start Steam now.

Thank you! The solution taken from that thread for anyone reading this is to go into the Friends and Chat section in settings. Sounds completely counterintutiive, but then actually ENABLE automatic sign in for friends and chat. I had this disabled initially in a carryover from my prior client versions settings. Exit Steam and restart it. The chat window pops up with you signed in. Then go back into settings and disable auto sign in to friends and chat. Close the chat window. Exit and restart Steam again, and now the window does not popup. So apparently the new client doesn't remember the setting you had previously even if it looks like it did in your settings initially.
