Linux Mint Steam UI too small after June 14th update
Steam should've held off on this update until after the steam summer sale. My UI is now way too small to the point a magnifying glass wouldn't help. I can't figure out if there is any key bindings to increase the client UI size, I can't use GDK_SCALE=2 to increase the steam client size. Steam's interface settings don't have any useful settings that change the interface size.

Is there any way I can revert the update? At least before I have to try and use it before the steam summer sale?

Thank you very much @TricKy,
your fix works also on Fedora 37.

having just opposite - `GDK_SCALE=2 steam` does nothing, but `Exec=steam -forcedesktopscaling 2` works like a charm 😅

Thank you for this. However, I am not sure how to make this work. I used a bash script where I put

steam -forcedesktopscaling=2 %U

This of course is slightly different to your solution. Do I need to use your solution and put it in sing quotes?

I'm not sure what the %U does - but the rest looks correct!

This only works from the terminal. Is there a way to add this somewhere to have it scale the UI when actually launching the app from the taskbar? I have tried inserting this line in steam.desktop, etc/environment and other places and it didn't work. Do you know where I can add it so it is a normal UI launch, not terminal? Thanks

You're already on the right track ; you just have to find and edit the shortcut that appears on the taskbar. Can't help much further than that unfortunately.

I'm using Mint (21.1) just now. Other than using GE-Proton 8-16 to run it, as it didn't seem to work out of the box on stock Proton, SV4 works fine, although it's very jerky at 2560x1440, so I have to run it in a window at 1280x900 or so.

Wrong thread maybe? This thread is talking about Steam's UI being too small.

I've fixed it by, like you said, finding the shortcut and adding this line to the launch option. All good.
