The code peeled off with the sticker on my $20 Steam card?
I peeled off the sticker and the code went with it and left a blank white bar with no code!

Dont they scratch off?

Try taking it back to the store for an exchange?

This. They scratch off, not peel off.

Put it back in place and use a penny (or other coin) to gently scrape off the silver.

It even says "Scratch lightly with a coin" printed on the silver strip.

I doubt they would take it. It is non-refundable for most stores .

If you aren't able to retrieve your code, this thread may be of use to you:

After getting the run around for a week trying to salvage my gift card, I just wanted to share my story in hopes it will help someone else...

I received a steam gift card from Best Buy for Christmas and I accidentally scratched off some of the numbers on the 15 digit code. Steam and Best Buy could not help me but I noticed on the back of the card it said "Powered by FastCard". After doing some research my wife discovered a company called InComm is the manufacturer of the actual gift cards. We contacted them using the category "customer care" via this link http://www.incomm.com/contact-us and they were able to give us the missing part of the code.

We did have to provide them with quite a bit of information. Luckily I had the receipt from Best Buy. They wanted the serial numbers from the bottom of the card (2 numbers). They also wanted the store name and number, date and time of purchase, and any part of the 15 digit code we could read.

Hopefully this will help anyone else with the same issue. This will only work for cards issued by FastCard.
