Applying a local save file to game?

Hi guys, a while ago steam cloud deleted my save file on Dark Souls, but my save file had been saved locally on my computer. However, being the technical genius I am, I can't figure out how to apply the save file to the game. Any help? Much appreciated.

Do you know where the save files are normally located? Perhaps you could just re-sync Dark Souls and see if that works. Not too sure how you could do that but I figure its possible. Try loading the file with developer console then see if when you exit the game if it syncs.

I believe GFWL saves are account bound and encrypted in such a way that sharing save files is hard. At least this is the case or me when I try to import resident evil 5 saves, didn't work because GFWL refuses to use it; the save was created with a different account.

I have no idea how to re-sync Dark Souls either. And no, I don't know where the save files are normally located, that's my problem, I have my save file but I just don't know where to copy it to. I reckon it's somewhere in the game folder though.

As for Cheese Icicle, it's the same account and computer so that's not an issue.

Seeing as Dark Souls doesn't support Steam Cloud saves, you may want to look for another reason why your saves were deleted.

You can find your Dark Souls saves in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\NBGI
Keep in mind that saves are checked for alterations and that Steam nor Games for Windows Live offers cloud storage services for these saves.
