Selling game mods on steam

If i wanted to sell a mod on steam and my mod was made in arma 3 would i need to contact the makers of arma 3 and ask for permission before selling?.

If it's a small mod for a game, like skins or weapons, you can't sell them.

If it's a mod like Black Mesa you have to submit it to Greenlight.

Yes if you going to earn on it you will have to connect the owner of the copyrights before doing so

Yes, you would need to buy a license from them that allows commercialization.
