so of course it was the same
EVERY game
It's rather trivial to assume that some publishers try to do a lot of sales, especially for the not-so-popular titles that are repeatedly featured as a Daily Deal every few days.
And yes, other sales tend to be good as well, but there's not that much of a difference. Every shop ultimately deals with the same publisher, and they are unlikely to run with extremely different discounts for each shop.
Maybe other shops set up their sales in a smarter way. I got the "Tomb Raider Collection" from GMG during the autumn sale -- a discount that was slightly better than the usual one, the usual GMG coupon, and I even had some store credit. And it didn't include the latest Tomb Raider game. Steam later had a collection on sale that did include the latest game, but seeing that they make DLCs for that and there's probably more DLCs to come, I'm not sure I would have gotten that one...
I don't know whether it makes a difference, but the shortest deals on Steam are 8 hours ("Flash" and "Community" sales). During the autumn sale, GMG was running with 4 hour deals, which might have given them slightly better discounts.
I'm not currently doing much about the humblebundle store. I do check out the bundles as usual (although my current opinion is that they've gotten worse since the store was made official), but the store doesn't display discounts, just prices. Since all stores operate off the same base price, I just like to check the discounts to decide whether it's even worth taking a closer look.
I'm pretty excited for StarForge though.
