How to know if i can run a game WITHOUT DOWNLODING ANYTHING
I want to download Outlast but i dont know if i can run it because this means nothing to me

Minimum:
OS: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 - 64 bits *
Processor: 2.2 GHz Dual Core CPU
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX / ATI Radeon HD 3xxx series
DirectX: Version 9.0c
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 5 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
Additional Notes: * 32 bits systems are not officially supported, but should work if configured to provide 3Gb of user-mode address space.

You should have an application stored on your computer called DirectX Diagnostic Tool. This will be put on your computer via windows updates.

To find this click the windows start button, then in the “Search for programs and files” box type in dxdiag. An option should come up saying DxDiag.exe. If so press enter and the application will collect information about your computer.

On the System and Display Tab should be all the information you need to compare against Outlasts minimum requirements. The only thing which this tool will not collect is your hard disks remaining space, however you would be aware by now if you were running low as windows would have informed you.

[Note]: DirectX Diagnostic tool will give your RAM in MB not GB which steam asks for. Divide the RAM DirectX DT gives you by the number 1024 on a calculator to convert the number of MB into GB.

Hope this helps and that you’re able to play outlast. Any issues please reply to this forum.

Chip type is Intel(R) HD Graphics (Pentium)
Approx. Total memory: 762mb

Unfortunately, “Intel(R) HD Graphics” means that you are using the integrated graphics of your chipset meaning that you don’t have a graphics card installed on your computer. Since outlast requires a graphics card you may be unable to run or you will run it at very low performance.

You may want to get a graphics card for your computer. Even if you are using a laptop there are graphics cards available. However, a desktop PC and graphics card will get you the best performance. However, it really depend whether you’re that into gaming to upgrade your PC.

Overall, Intel HD graphics are not made for gaming so using them is never a good idea :(

Your data is contradictory, OP.

You say on your original post you have an integrated ATI graphics chipset, but then go on to say it's an Intel integrated chipset.

If it't the former, you COULD be OK (I don't know the specs for Outlast - you need to check the page. It'll be obvious whether the RAM, processor speed and graphics are greater than yours), but if it's Intel chipset, you'd best be prepeared for bad news. They are generally pretty awful and hardly supported.

EDIT: Oh I see, the first post are Outlast's specs. In that case, please do the DirectX diganostics as suggested earlier in this post. It seems Intel HD3000 works fine, but it really does depend on the rest of your specs. We CANNOT tell you unless you provide them, and you should ignore any comments that try to tell you otherwise.

Rubbish.

Although not widely supported that IS a graphics card. You would have a blank screen if you didn't have a graphics card. Please don't offer bad advice.

NEVER do this.

It's easy to do the DirectX thing, let me show you.

Press the Windows START button. In the window that comes up type in the text box
dxdiag
then press ENTER.

Relate the data what the window brings up. Press the second tab of that window marked "display" for your graphics card specs.

the Notable data is CPU and speed of it, RAM, graphics card, and OS version.

Intel HD graphics cards are not supported by many games. Especially the "INtel HD" one which is the very first iteration of that series. Games barely support even the 3000/4000 series. You 'may' get it to work but there's no guarantee. Games like Payday2 don't run at all. Black Ops2 takes 2-3 MINUTES to load a map because of the Intel drivers.

Some games may run, but there's no guarantee of support or usability if you're not meeting the minimum requirments set by the developer.
