Bioshock Triple Pack - Can I gift parts of it if I already own them?
I want to buy the pack since it's cheaper obviously, but I just want Bioshock Infinite and gift Bioshock 1 and 2 to a friend of mine since I already own 1 and 2. Can this be done?

I remember it was possible for a Red Alert pack ages ago (contained 5 games, I made it a gift option and actually get 5 seperate games in my inventory), but that's just it: that was ages ago. Obviously things might have changed, so I thought I'd ask you guys before I do something that will end up wasting my time and money.

No.

Any package on Steam is one item -- it cannot be broken up in any way.

If you already own some games from a package you'll just get the new games; the excess licenses are simply discarded. You don't get gifts or anything.

The are very few, rare exceptions to this -- all of them for some Valve packages, where you will get gifts for certain games. But even there it's specific to certain packages, not a general rule for all Valve game packages.

There are some exceptions to the rule listed in Store Support pages, and Bioshock 2 is not one of them

Ah! Thanks for the information. It's a shame, but guess we can't have everything.

I feel like this is extraordinary ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, cause I have a friend who wants infinite, and I already have it. I wanted to buy this triple pack, cause I *don't have 1 & 2, and I was just going to gift it to him for his birthday. But no, I got screwed :/

Yeah, I read a version of that in my cart, and it talked like it usually does, just know that there are some cases that it doesn't. I noticed that all the examples were Valve games, but I just thought that was shameless self promotion, not the exclusive set of games these rules applied to, so I bought the thing.

That's how 99% of bundles work on Steam unfortunately. They justify it by exclaiming how low the price is. Publishers can opt to let the buyer receive an extra copy, but very few do.

And how do we get the discount. It's an automatic process (like a pop-up during activation) or you need to submit to steamsupport. I also already have bioshock 2 and want 1 and infinite and i'm planning on getting the triple pack since it's way cheaper. Can i get the value money from the pack of the bioshock 2 game back?

No money back and no spare copies unless it says so on the sale page.

Nope. The price you pay is what you pay. There is no additional discounts for already owning a pice of the pack.

Most the time the pack is cheaper then buying the individual pices that you don't own. Just do the math. If it is cheaper to buy the pack, then get it. If it is cheaper to get the missing pices individualy, then do it like that.
