-They can hear me but I can't hear them
I went through everything suggested, checked that my preferred device is the only thing enabled, checked that my receive volume was all the way up, that my friends weren't somehow muted, checked that in steam settings my wireless Logitech headset was selected. They used to work but just recently for no reason at all, without me fiddling with any settings, I can no longer hear my friends in voice chat. I've restarted everything my computer, my headset, steam. I'm not sure what's wrong.
I have an issue that hasn't been raised here yet. I can hear them, they can hear me, but what I hear is badly broken and nearly unreadable.
Would that be a connection issue? The game seems to be fine otherwise, and my connection seems to be pretty stable.
my in game sound is directed to my headphone, but my steam voice chat is stubbornly kkeep routed to my speaker, which i dont undestand why... wtf steam
Steam went through a lot of changes, let alone, windows 10 became popular/most used, etc.
The issue maybe the same in a way, but not truly the same.
Anyway with that out of the way.
Try clicking the Gear icon in Steam Friends and from there, try setting the audio output to your headphones.
Capt_Drunkbeard's issue sounds like a bug that Steam does.... randomly.
e.e;chromium. (can be fixed with a reboot usually) (that post was 2017omg)
First thing I would try, is disable all other input devices your computer is not using. For sanity I'd also do perform a quick reboot and try to manually select the correct device in the Steam Settings.
