HELP I NEED HELP QUICK

I GOT A DISCORD MESSAGE STATING THEY ACCIDENTALLY REPORTED MY ACCOUNT AND NEED ME TO CHAT TO THEM AND WANT ME TO SIGN OUT SO THEY CAN REMOVE THE DELTION TICKET. I NEED HELP ASAP

Calm down, its a well known scam. Block them and report all involved accounts for trying to scam you , then move on with your life.

Do not respond to them. Block them and report them on discord. This is a scammer. This is one reason why i refuse to use discord. Too many scammers on it.

i know i should calm down but i had just woken up to it after a long shift and rough sleep so i wasn't in the right headspace

And that is how scammers trick people. They either are not fully paying attention or half asleep or they are naive.

That is about all you can do. Good job and nice not following for a scam. If in doubt you can ask on here or just block them yourself.

yeah when they asked for proof of purchases and then sign out on all devices i was so very confused. questioned them about it, they got pushy about me signing out

I would also perform these steps as a precaution as your account may already be compromised and they were facilitating a second part of the scam:-

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

yeah i'm getting total av put onto my computer now as it's a new computer and i forgot about it oops

yeah i'm getting total av put onto my computer now as it's a new computer and i forgot about it oops

Windows OS has a scanner too. Check under your security features, it should be there. Both 10 and 11 should have it. It comes standard on new pc's too.

used that and it all came up clear

Try malwarebytes also as posted in the above post. This will also help to make sure your pc is clean.

changed my password to my email and paypal and steam account too
