(Supposedly) Bad Connection to CS:GO Servers
Alright so for the past year I've had good connection when playing CS:GO; whether it be competitive, casual, deathmatch... you name it. But since the end of August, I've had terrible, HORRIBLE connection to CS:GO servers. Speed Test doesn't show any signs of bad internet. 15ms, 20 down and 5 up speeds are the norm and they haven't gone any higher/lower than that. And to those with better internet, shh this worked for me for the past FIVE years, it's not my internet. Anyways, I did however ping both servers for CS:GO/DOTA2 and I recieved no packet loss and my ping was 50ms on one server, 70 on the other.
Once again, this isn't my internet connection, I have checked if CSGO isn't blocked in my firewall.
Here's a few things I find strange:
1) I only lag in CS:GO
2) If I alt+tab and quickly go back in the game I have 25ms ping for upto 20 seconds (ikr, it's beast), but after that it spikes back up to what I now call "it's regular 1000ms ping."
Please help, I've found no one at all with this problem. It'd be really appreciated if someone tries to help.

short-term high ping spikes are actually normal.
But if that lasts and throws off the game itself, change servers.
Not all will allow good pings based on regional location etc.

Hi, thanks for replying, and I do believe that changing server won't help b/c (if you mean casual servers) I've been playing for ages and it's only happening now. Server browser would show me 50ms. When I get in the game I get 50ms (net_graph 1), if I'm spectating someone I have 50ms. But once I spawn in, all hell breaks loose xD.
I can only hope that changing servers would help, but sadly that's, as far as I could tell, not the issue. As I can stabalize my ping my either alt+tabbing.
My ping stabalizes itself more during competitive, and last night it even stayed at a constant 50ms.
It seems like I'm the only one with this problem.

if you can observe with a good ping but when you join your ping goes up that says you need to lower your settings. the higher your setting the more info is moved up and down , when your idle watching there is no load so you get a good ping
dont skpe , or teamspeak . dont leave a browser open , try to give the game all the bandwidth you can

By settings I assume you mean graphics settings, and I (sort of) see what you mean. It's not skype or TS although I do try to close those. I also set the servers to Chicago and and speedtest that (assuming I play on Chicago servers :P). Thanks for replying!

Only in CS Go
disabled Firewall
Updated Drivers
Used common Console and Config Commands
Used /ipconfig (renew
Used Matchmaking Server Picker
Reinstalled the Game
