RPG recommendations?

[I am Ahab]

Anyone recommend some RPG's/action RPGs on Steam? Basically, I'm pretty easy to please; all I want is a good story and an interesting combat system of some kind. PC, console, JRPG, tun-based, realtime, indie, AAA, multiplayer, solo... it's all good. I'm not even that fussy about graphics. The more obscure/less well-known the better.

Some RPGS I have enjoyed:
Dark Souls games
Elder Scrolls games,
Fallout 1, 3 and New Vegas,
Witcher 1 & 2,
Kingdoms of Amular,
Darksiders 2,
Baldurs gate 1 &2,
Xcom (ok not technically RPG but has many RPG elements),
Dragon Age Origins,
Mass effect series,
Torchlight,
Chronotrigger,
the old Phantasy Star games,
Castlevania Lords of Shadows 1 and 2 (again, not strictly rpg, but many hybrid elements)

Some RPGs I have had beefs with:
Risen 2 (clunky combat)
2 Worlds 2 (beautiful game, but clunky combat)
Fable 3 (shallow game in general, boring combat)
Shadowrun Returns (story didn't really do much)
Last Remnant (actually was enjoying this but got locked into a game-break where I my level was too low to beat the boss but couldn't escape the dungeon to grind. My own fault for not keeping enough back up saves, but still...)
Dragon Age 2 (dumbed-down, RPG-lite)

Anyways, I'd love to hear your recommendations and why you like them, especially on more obscure stuff that I might not have hear about.

Any of the STALKER games, Borderlands 1 + 2, BioShock 1 + 2.... There's so many good games to choose from. All these games have been on Steam's Holiday Sale

The Witcher 1 and 2 and when it is released....3...that is if you will be able to run it !!!! LOL

EDIT...my mistake ...I just saw them in your OP...but everyone is really excited about 3 anyway.

haha no worries. Yeah, Witcher 3 looks amazing. Hopefully by the time it is out I'll have a rig that can run it well.
