Is this really the Steam Winter Sale?

I was really wondering because Steam's past Winter Sales were wayyyyyyyyyyy better than this. With usual 75% 80% even 90% discounts on a lot of games, even new triple A titles were at least 50% off. Whats going on here Steam?

The only games that I see which are 75% off or more are games which 90% of the population already have, and/or games that are very unpopular. This is nothing like previous "Winter Sales" from Steam. Did Steam get bought out secretly or something? sheesh, this is a huge blow to the gonads for everyone in the community. Let alone the auction, which most were disappointed with, (not me, because I know it helped everyone involved), but seriously, now this?

So the question still stands, is this "REALLY" the Steam Winter Sale? Its hard to believe that many sales before this one actually had MUCH BETTER PRICING than the biggest sale of the year.

Well, lets hope for the best shall we?

I guess all the games on my wishlist are ones that most people have then. ^^; I am hoping to see some gems along the way that I may have previously over looked.

Ya, all the games ranked at the top of my wishlist are not even as much discounted as previous sales or regular sales for that matter. But this is the winter sale? I'd expect them to be half as much than ever, just like it always has been, that is, up until now....

Still doesn't feel like the Steam Winter Sale to me.... very lackluster.

and what sucks is last year I had no money for games, but when I finally get the cash to buy the games on my wishlist all the sales suck, i mean seriously 33% off star wars knight of the old republic 2? that game was 2 bucks last year...

You have to wait for the Daily Deals, Flash Sales and votes, not the standard "available until January 2" full sale discounts. Looking right now, Gal Civ III is 50% off, which is a pretty steep discount, and so if Borderlands The Pre-Sequel, which is basically brand new, and the just release AC:Unity is 33% off. The problem, I think, is that the AAA new release titles have gone up in base price $10-20 over last year. So a 50% off new release last year was $20-25, but this year it's $30.

I am similarly disappointed, but like many people have said, it's only early in the sale yet. Hopefully the sales voted on by the community will pick things up a bit.

Maybe you're not looking at the right games? They seem pretty in line with the past three years' sales from what I recall.
