I dunno if they're into it, but they might like Terraria, and other indie type games where they have the option to play together.
I think you should be OK with any 2D game on Steam, I can reccomend Guacamelee! and the Worms games.
Also, this has nothing to do with gaming laptops.
Doubt anybody would consider a laptop with Intel HD as "gaming". For simple kid games might be sufficient though, they are too young for the heavy stuff anyways.
Good god, the rich people. When I was their age I got plush toys, not a laptop.
hl and quake 3 and ut2 era games will be fine (around 2004)
going to the i7m with 980m will be huge upgrade, will play any game at mid-upper settigns
I have over 70 games on my gaming laptoop, I wouldn't call it a waste of money, I like it very much!
When I was their age "laptops" took up entire rooms (and cost millions)!
