Games for Intel HD graphics
Hey all, so I discovered yesterday that my little brothers (ages 10 & 12) are both getting laptops for Christmas! How times are a changing, I didn't get my first laptop until I was 16! My Dad has suggested I get them a game for these new laptops. Any good ideas? What is the minimum age for Steam accounts - am I right in thinking it is 13? It's just that Portal/Portal 2 would be awesome, as would Limbo and all the indie titles on Steam.

Intel Celeron N2840 @2.16GHz (dual core, 22nm)
Intel HD Graphics, with 1366x768 display resolution
4GB DDR3L RAM
Windows 8.1 32bit

I was thinking maybe Rayman Origins/Rayman Legends or any of the LEGO games.

Would be ideal if I could find something with fun co-op/multiplayer that can scale well across to the laptop I have on preorder, that I'll be receiving the week after next (with a GTX 980M and Intel Core i7-4710HQ @2.5GHz). Age appropriate, of course!

I used a computer with Intel HD graphics. You'd be suprised at what it can play on reasonably good settings. For example, I managed Borderlands 2 on high.

I dunno if they're into it, but they might like Terraria, and other indie type games where they have the option to play together.

Minimum age for creating a Steam account is indeed 13, but it's up to your discretion if you wish to allow your 10 and 12 year old brothers to play through the Family Sharing feature or if you are prepared to supervise their playing.

I think you should be OK with any 2D game on Steam, I can reccomend Guacamelee! and the Worms games.

That's a subjective statement. That might be a waste for one person but a good investment for another.

Also, this has nothing to do with gaming laptops.

Doubt anybody would consider a laptop with Intel HD as "gaming". For simple kid games might be sufficient though, they are too young for the heavy stuff anyways.

Good god, the rich people. When I was their age I got plush toys, not a laptop.

When I was their age "laptops" took up entire rooms (and cost millions)!
