Unable to login or reset password (have logged a ticket)
Hello, recently my account became inaccessible--my password stopped working and when I try to reset it either I attempt to reset the password using the username and I don't receive an email containing the verificaton code, or if I attempt to reset by saying I don't know the account name but I do know the email address I get the error "The operation failed. Please try again."

I submitted the help request 5110-FZCV-2957 on Nov 26th and haven't received an email. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I cracked the case. It looks like my account has been stolen by someone in Harrislee, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, they have deleted my friends list and have used the account to play Euro Truck Simulator 2 for 52 hours in the last 2 weeks. They also splurged and got the expansion packs Going East! and Ice Cold Paint Jobs Pack.

If you are able to look at the recent game history of this account you will see months of Civilization: Beyond Earth and DOTA 2 all logged from an IP address in Durham, NC before a sudden shift to Germany and racing games.

Any assistance getting my account back would be much appreciated, I can provide paypal transaction history information which is tied to the same email address this account was originally registered to.

You are welcome...and good luck..be ready to be patient because it could take a while for Steam to respond...and you may want to take your ticket number down...it does no good here in the forums and that is personal stuff that belongs to you...

I'm having the same problem over here... but i checked from a friend account that my inventory items are still there.. problem is i couldnt login even tho i've type the correct ID and Pass.. it says : Login to steam failed, Either the specified account does not exist, or the password was wrong. i've send a ticket.. but i'm hoping for the best to retrieve the account... (DOTA 2) any suggestions ??

Open the Steam client. If you are logged in, log out. At the login screen, you'll see "Forgot your login info? RETRIEVE A LOST ACCOUNT". Click that. Enter your username. It will send a code to your email. Then you can reset your password.

ermm.. i've tried but the code wasnt send to my email ... i am sure it is that specific email it should be sending.. but yet i didnt receive.. I did tried other account as well.. it work just perfectly fine...helppp... im desperate for my account haha

Did you check your spam folder, or try adding Steam to a whitelist? You may also simply want to send the email a second time.

That is the problem. Using the retrieve a lost account options don't work when the account is stolen. The reset requests go to another person's email address.

I've had this resolved finally--a few days ago Steam support gave me access but I have still been unable to use it as the account is locked. I am about to try flushing the cache which was recommended to me by support today. I hope it works, today is the one month anniversary of my initial help request.

... 1 month.. that is quite awhile... my items are still inside the id.. i think valve might have locked it ?? if it were to been hacked.. my items are long goners lol... and yes i did check my junk and spams...
