Fallout: New Vegas Won't start up

Hey guys,

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place. If it's not I would really appreciate it if you told me where to go. So here's my problem. I just bought and downloaded Fallout: New Vegas. When I click to play, the small "first time setup" window pops up for like a second then disappears. I wait for a while but nothing happens. Game won't start up or anything. That's all that happens. I'm not sure what other information I can tell you guys but any advice on what I should do would be much appreciated. If there's any specific information you guys need to understand the problem let me know and I'll tell you the best I can.

Try verifying game cache: Go to Library > Right click game > Properties > >Local > Verify game cache. Otherwise post this in the Fallout New Vegas forums.

1st when run first time run steam as Administrator (if install not run go to Fallout New Vegas folder \Redists and install all - start from lower versions
then reboot PC
then use

fix 4) + run as Administrator + Windows XP SP3 for all exe in Fallout New Vegas folder
for 99% users this is enough

When posting for help always include your system specs, including what graphics card you have.

Your problem may be that you are not running the game as the Administrator of your pc.

Go to the game launcher and make sure it's set to "Run as Administrator"
C:/Program Files[86]/Steam/Steam Apps/common/fallout new vegas
Open the New Vegas folder, go to fallout new vegas launcher, right click on it and click "Run as Administrator".
