EDIT...at first you said in your op that is was not because of overheating and then later in your post you said it was "close to overheating"...that is why I was asking you about monitoring the temperatures
Ok...sorry if I misunderstood...but what about the other questions I posted here ?
The games that specifically make my computer overheat is Sid Mier's Civilization V as I can only play it for atleast 10 min at a time. Then Guns of Icarus does shut down but it is more time before it shuts down (about 14 min). Team Fortress 2 takes about 20 min until it shuts down so on and so forth. I don't think that hardware related because that I can still play other games such as Minecraft, Browser Hero's and Generals, etc.
it's in the link
That is related to my post number 6...some of the games are more demanding on your hardware as you may know...and if this has been happening for a while as it seems from your description, then this takes a toll on your hardware over time you see....are you sure there is no dust in the fans ? I repasted my laptop once with Artic Silver 5 and the temps dropped 10 degrees celcius just from that....
EDIT ..i am sorry but i am not clicking on external links here since the problems lately

EDIT...or I could be the power supply also but I am not sure of course
Actually I was just going to clean my fan, as I haven't done so since I bought it ( 1 year).
