On top of that, from first glance, that store is *highly* unlikely to be a legit key reseller and thus extremely unlikely to be 'partnered up with Steam'.
Sounds to me like a lot of hot air to scare you into complying.
That said, doing a chargeback because you didn't properly research the game you were going to play is also a pretty scummy thing in my opinion.
I did. I went and did research the day before and there were multiple sources from developers claiming it had dedicated servers.
That was what tipped the line into buying the game. Had they said "we will have dedicated servers... in a few months... maybe? Well, they won't be in for launch anyway" then I wouldn't have bought the game.
In Australia, this is False Advertising and giving refunds under Australian Consumer Law is MANDATORY. Steam found that out recently, because they were sued for not giving us Aussies refunds.
I did everything possible to amicably resolve the situation. I explained the laws, why I wanted the refund (I even listed links to every claim I made that needed one).
They also had more than a week to come to the table during the paypal dispute.
Trust me, I didn't just go "Oh, hey it's a new cod. I'll buy it!". I actually did research and was misled, thus the false advertising claim for a refund.
Also, I am inclined to believe you in regards to them not being able to ban me, since I'm fairly sure Steam have said (it was a year or more ago, so wanted to check) that they weren't affiliated in any way and that they didn't like them (because they take profits :P ).
Of course, I won't rest easy unless I manage to hear back officially from Steam.
Swear to god, if a Steam rep tells me I'm safe, then I'm taking a photo of me flipping the bird and emailing it to them. Nothing else, just that.

Why, are you famous?
No, but I'm fairly sure that CJS-CD Keys are pretty infamous, given all the crap I found on them while trying to figure out where they were located and if they were actually in Australia or not.
You wouldn't know me unless you frequented any of the old CCGL Lan's in Australia about 10 years ago :P
I put that there because I know that (eventually) someone is going to come along and be like "Well, that's what you get with CJS Keys, sucker!" or some such comment.
I don't need my mistakes rubbed in, I simply need to know if there is any chance that I could be risking my (Rounded up) $5000 steam account by exercising my consumer rights.
If they could do anything, it is to revoke the game key, but that is as far as they would be allowed to do. They can't enforce the SSA as that is between you and Valve.
However, I am not a Valve official so I could also be wrong. You may want to contact support and ask directly.

From what I can find, COD: Advanced Warfare uses both dedicated and listen (p2p) servers. It places you in one or the other, depending on what has the better ping for you at the time.

Yeah, I have a ticket, but it has been up for around 2 days now. Hoping forums might get me a faster turnover *shrug*
Also, that may be the case about the servers, but even so, just saying "It has dedicated servers" instantly means server browser and rentable servers to PC gamers, not CoD hosted ones that you only get to play on when there are 100 people online globally.
Don't even get me started on trying to find a dedi in Australia... Every time I've tried to play, it has been p2p every time. And just to clarify, I sat there for about 5 minutes, testing the IP's of the servers I was connecting to, all of them were residential and all of them lagged like the dickens.
Not surpsing from the same company that went mental about the stolen Elite Sniper3 keys and blamed Rebellion about it and said they were going to sue them (unsuprisingly this has not happened)
I'd actually be midly interested if the OP was actually banned or if CJS was just jerking them around
I proceeded with the refund (my sphincter was puckered so badly I almost busted a seal).
But here I am, still with my steam account. I asked a steam rep and they told me that basically I shouldn't be worried and that CJS are shiesters.
JoJo, I would get that refunded through paypal asap. Ignore anything they say in the emails as they're just trying to bully you into giving up your money.
I see you don't have COD:AW in your game list. Did you have it on another account, was the game taken away, or did you get it removed?
- I took the money back, so I wasn't entitled to keep it. It would probably actually be fraud if I did.
- I didn't WANT to keep it anyway (it was ♥♥♥♥♥. Unplayable for me.)
- CJS also requested that I remove the key from my account (though, they wanted the key BACK! Yeah, right)
- If some kind of fraud was called, I could go in with a clearer conscience and possibly some good will since I did try to resolve it in other ways first as well as not keeping the game.
I doubt anything WILL ever eventuate from CJS, but I like to know that I have no loose ends to worry about.
Not if it's a base.
