I've tried to buy TW Rome 2 for the past 3 hours with nothing. My card is a Visa Electron, but it has worked fine here before (Like on Thursday when I bought CoH 2). I've tried buying it via browser, tried paypal to pay it, restarted PC (dunno why but tried it anyway, lol).
Any ideas or is it in Steam? I also have checked and I have enough funds on my account.

I'm getting the same error, "An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed. Please contact Steam Support." so annoying with all the sales right now...

I'd rather not message them and get them to respond a week later. Helps a ton after a week the sale is over.

"An unexpected error" is a typical transaction error. Most possible reason - overloaded servers. Thanks to how there's a lot of people with this exact problem. You can try again and again and MAYBE it'll let you to buy something. "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction" means that you tried too much and should wait like 30 minutes. Note that you also won't be able to activate any external keys (like from Humble Bundle, etc) during the "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction" error time. And yes, contacting support won't help much.

Yep...exactly what he/she said....I get this error all the time but I just keep trying and it always goes through...but there is alot of traffic right now I am sure so keep trying and try to be patient.

Well, a week or so does sound like a bit of a long time to wait since you say here now. Do you have any frineds with Steam accounts that could gift the game to you and you pay them back ? I know it is not the best option but worth a shot to get in on the sale if you really want a game now.....

Well, I got the money added with paysafecard but I still can't buy the game.
Thanks for the advice anyway, I can only cross my fingers and hope this ♥♥♥♥ works in less than three hours of twenty euros wasted.

I ordered Total War Rome 2 yesterday, and today my CC company called my my card details have been STOLEN. Hundreds of USD and UK Pounds purchased today,

I hardly ever use my card, didnt use it in WEEKS . and 1 day after this sale I got hacked.

Steam issues.....

I totally agree...it definitly seems like a small thing to do...for them to upgrade so they can have alot more bandwidth allowance....they need server power like YouTube....LOL
