SteamApps / Downloading ?

The folder
Steam / Steam Apps / Downloading
Its about 54 Gb or something
and i noticed that it has a lot of games that i already perfectly installed and played and they need no updates
Is it safe to just delete them ?
and what is that folder anyway ? Does it contain the updates ? if so then why are my finished ( Lonnnngg finished ) games even from months ago still exists in it ?

From my experience, nothing went wrong when I deleted it. I can still play the games that were fully downloaded but remained in the downloading folder that I already deleted.

The downloading folder usually contains the temporary files of a game you're currently downloading.

The steamapps folder contains the common folder that has all your games in it. Just wanted to help by answering part of your question, but you may already know this.

and yeah i figured it has the currently updating games that i paused
But it also has a lot of games that i already finished downloading
such as bastion , Super meat boy , Games that i downloaded fully and are there but still in the downloading folder , so i decided to track them down 1 by 1 and removing them.
not gonna delete it all still have some on going updated games

Jesus this post is from 2014 ....
but if you lost your steamapps just make it again create a new folder and call it steamapps
