Download error. Can't find fix.
It's been a couple days that this has been happening. And going through at least three reinstalls of steam it's becoming a serious problem.

There are three games on steam that I need to be updated. Firefall, Team Fortress 2 and ZMR. This would normally be no problem. Queue them to download, get the download going and play an off-client game until the games were ready to play. Now, it isn't so simple.

Team Fortress 2 has been queued to update for this last week. It's been on 0kb/0kb to be downloaded. Not only that, but the download will say "Starting" for an infinite amount of time and read "Stopping" when the download is paused. None of the games will update, and hitting play on them only brings up the "Game will launch once updated" window that remains there, stuck at a full bar but refusing to start the game.

I can't find a fix, and this is beginning to annoy me, considering I have games I'd like to play and Valve hasn't given me a response that has helped.

Man that would really anger me also...I sympathize with you. There are others here in the forums that are complaining of "update issues" lately also. You said that you have been trying to fix this for about a week ? What did Steam tell you so far to try please ?

The only response I got was to uninstall and reinstall steam (which I did four times so far) and to delete everything except for steamapps and the steam.exe file. Nothing's been suggested so far that works.

Is there any way you can try on the same PC at a different location? Like a friend's house, preferably with a different ISP.

It's a Steam-side problem and didn't change with the different internet.

Update: Still no change. Tried to send a ticket and the helpdesk was down. Way to go, Valve.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work. Switching to a different ISP/Internet at my buddy's house didn't work either.
