CLICKED A LINK AND IT TOOK ALL ITEMS IN MY INVENTORY
Guys I really need help. I was trading items when suddenly a random guy sent me a link to his "backpack" so i, being unaware, clicked it. Then all of my items were taken away from me. Does some of you guys experienced this? How can i get my items back. I really need help. Thanks appreciated

Did you log in to or download a file from the link you were given? This is a pretty common phishing scam. You will need to contact Steam Support as no one on these forums can get your account and/or items back.

First: If you did download something, be sure to scan your computer for malware (use a good anti-malware such as Malwarebytes free anti-malware) before you go any further.

Second: Get the ball rolling with Steam Support. You can contact them here. You will need to create a separate Steam Support account in order to submit a ticket.
  • If you've lost items you can mention this in your ticket to Steam Support and see if they can help you (note that item restoration is not guaranteed).
  • Report the phisher/hijacker via their profile page ("More" > "Report Violation"). Please do not post the user or given link publicly.
  • Remember to scan your computer for malware if you downloaded something through a link you were given by another user. This is very imporant. If you have access to your account, change your password and deauthorize all other computers via your Steam Guard settings after your computer is clean.

Additional information:
Oh noes.
A phishing link has been going around lately.
I encountered it myself, but I acted fast.
Before anything, take these precautionary steps.
1.) Deauthorize your steam account from all PCs (Done through steam security settings)
2.) Reset password
3.) Reset Verified Email Password
4.) Run a virus scan, preferably the free version of malwarebytes.

After that, report to steam support immediately. They might get your items back.

Have you secured your computer and figured out what you did to compromise your accounts security? If you haven't it is just going to happen again. Support can take around two weeks to come to a resolution. Keep your ticket short and to the point and make sure you include the proof of ownership they require. Here is all the relevant info, and again it can take a couple of weeks for a human response and the first response may be an auto-reply that you will need to respond to:

No, it's a script that trades. It mimics you trading items, and makes you trade items. Likely using similar coding as the automatic trading bots that everyone uses for the third party trading sites.

This is an old post. It happened before the Email Trade Confirmations existed.
