How to I contact Steam/Valve customer service directly?
This is ridiculous. Does actual customer service exist. All I've gotten is steam support which you have to create a whole different account for and still doesn't answer my question. Then it directs me to look to discussion boards to find my answer. Seriously. I haven't found any other way to reach them. Am I missing something? I just want to be able to return a game that I have never installed and never plan on playing.

Support doesn't even show this question.

How Valve runs their business isn't really relevant to your original question. Furthermore, to debate on an online forum how many employees they should have is totally pointless and a waste of time.

Were you able to create a support account and send them your question?

You are comparing Amazon to Valve, that is like comparing apples to oranges.

People really aren't aware how many people use Steam compared to Origin, Origin is nothing compared to Steam's numbers. Also, tech support lines and such cost money, a lot of money.

Shouldn't they have more employees then? I'm sure there could afford it with everything that they make. It's not like Valve is making new games.

That wont' actually solve anything except make your wait time shorter. Then when the issues are fixed the new workers get laid off. There is no point, it is a waste of time. The reason support is backed up is due to a user created issue. Valve shouldn't be saddled with the financial costs of users mistakes.

Besides, I have answered your question. Matt may be able to help you.

Your answer is in the FAQ. You want to return a game, correct? It's not gonna happen. Unless required by law, all Steam sales are final and non-refundable. You agree to this whenever you purchase a game.

Even if it has never been installed?

Nope. You can only get a refund for preorders, and only before the game is released. They sometimes make exceptions if you have a very good reason, but it has to be something better than "I changed my mind, I don't want it anymore."

Well then I guess Borderlands will sit and fester in my library.

Her'es the answer

NO

No refunds

And your 'reason' is certainly not even close to a valid reason for a refund.

It's nonsense like this that just clogs up the Support system.

The better question is, why would you even want to let Borderlands remain untouched? It's a great game. It may not be as good as BL2, but thats really only because of age. Unless the issue is just that your machine can't run it or the file iss too big, i'd say download it and give it a legitimate try, especially since you paid the money for it.

I played Borderlands 2 to the point where I started to hate it. I'm not interested in Borderlands 1 because it is similar to that and it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC port.

Fair enough. I haven't gotten to that point with borderlands 2, but i can see that sentiment. I just want to play it for the story. i started with borderlands 2, and after playing it and loving it, im very much interested in seeing how it all started with #1, and the of course, the presequal.
