Free and easy to use game engines?
I want to know what are the easiest game engines to use to make a decent game, because I always wanted to make my own games.

leave your suggestions in the comments, thanks. :)

When I grow up I wanted to be a game developer
Well i think it some what depends also on the type of game you want to make, Unity over all i understand is pretty easy
But i was yet to really go into it my self
Unity WOULD be the easiest, but you can run into bugs that are hard to deal with. It's easy, but not great. If you wanna make something really good, like triple A++, you'd wanna use Unreal engine (free to use if you are a student).

It takes more than a game engine to make games, unless you plan on buying all your art and sound assets from some online store (which is generally a bad idea if you want any kind of aesthetic balance in your project...(see The Slaughtering Grounds)).

As for ease, I'd say Unreal Engine 4 is an easier starting point than Unity, it has a native visual scripting language (so you won't need to learn to code if your primarily an artist, and there's a C++ version if you do), it looks a lot prettier, and Epic have made a ton of youtube tutorials. Costs you $20 per month but you can stop the subscription at any time and you keep the version you have.

QBASIC
I have never heard of QBASIC
Cry Engine (Warning: Read the license if you plan to go commercial)

Unreal Development Kit: (10$ / 20$ for one month of updates. You can cancel for next month, still use the version you downloaded. Updates only available if you pay for another month)

Unity: Free version supports windows, pro version supports rest of the platforms.

If I was you, I would buy 1 month of UDK access, then practise with the software for several months without subscription. When you feel like you need certain updates or nearly have completed a full release, I would get a longer subscription to finish the game. Also check out the licensing. Think UDK has a fair and reasonable SDK and licenses to offer.

UDK = Unreal Development Kit

No experience with unity myself, heard it supports a large range of platforms with pro-version.
