How to make a donate button on a workshop item.
Now before you say "Its not a thing" it is a thing. You can in fact make a donate button on a workshop item. Valve never advertised it but you could since April the 28th.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=430898838 big ol donate button.

How do you do that?

I assume he done it using a image:

And then posted it in order to make it like that
I do not think its something inside Steam it self, as it will also send you to PayPal, not to pay on Steam site it self

The button and its surrounding is a second image
He just set it really nicely so it looks like its part of Steam

It's an image that happens to fit the Steam UI theme.

Ahh. I've been fooled.

I had also read an article that steam was gonna stick in a donate system. Thought they had.

There are legal reasons why they cannot unilaterally do something like that

Using the skyrim example, legally Steam had to let Bethesda have the decision. When you use Skyrim and its provided assets and modding tools you agree that they are not for commercial use. So if Steam cut Bethesda out they would jeopardize their relationship with the developer as well as be legally liable for the modding revenue. If Bethesda had let the modder keep at least 50% of the sale I think the blowback would not of been so harsh. Valve could of put more pressure on Bethesda to give a better cut.

They've historically ignored the issue, with no one going after donations on sites like Nexus Mods, but I guess the combination of letting the modder charge (as opposed to optional donation system which would still have to be dev approved) in conjunction with Steam (and its huge customer base) getting a cut was just too sweet of a honey pot to ignore.

There's 6 images used.
3 of them have links behind them; 2 are used for spacing and 1 is the one on the left

I think the code might've been something as simple as
[url=address][img]image address here[/img][/url]

EDIT: Fixed the code after all this time, having noticed I lacked the [img] and [/img] tags. D'oh!
