download 100% cpu usage(cry of fear)
while I was downloading, I was watching videos on youtube, but when i move the mouse it started moving slow, download has stoped 5 secs before finishing, then i CTrl-alt-delete the cpu was 100%, turn off steam and youtube(both gettin a lot of memory) mouse was somewhat lagging, had to restart the pc, mouse still lagging turned off the mouse and turn on again, everything is normal. restablish the download, completed.
I went to the historic: it was steam client bootstrapper stop working.

is there something to worry about?

I have avast! but I was using chrome with the avast security online on as well.
it was working 300.000 k of memory
and steam while downloading stopped in the last 5 secs and the mouse started moving like crazy limited movement and lagging.

perhaps I shouldn't watch videos while downloading...

"perhaps I shouldn't watch videos while downloading..."

Well, personally I never do anything while installing or downloading with my PC...more of a chance to get corrupted data and it just takes longer anyway....

It can depend also on your download settings in Steam and your PC specs also...

Tracking cookies and of course viruses can cause issues like this...I always use CCleaner to clean my history but if you are into trading and stuff on steam you have to be careful doing that...

And you can do a scan for viruses of course...do the most intensive scan you can do when you are not going to use your pc...

You should note that Avast is on that list and Steam says it can cause problems...just saying

another user here updated his network drivers and got around this problem also once I saw, so check for new drivers for your network hardware if you need to....

EDIT...Try booting into safe mode with networking and then test this...that can give you many clues as how to optimize downloads as some programs can interfere with them but not always in safe mode.

like i said everything is normal, cleaned the cookies ran the antivirus didn't accused anything.
it's the first time that happen, and the game itself(cry of fear) looks a bit buggy when comes to download...

I would try the boot into safe mode trick and then test this by recreating the situation and see if there is a difference...that can give you an idea if there is a process or program that is harming your download....just an idea to help narrow it down for you if you want to try to improve the speed and/or bandwidth.

I downloaded nosgoth and kept watch the cpu activity, it seems it was the antivirus avast! was consuming 60 % of cpu and steam 25 %= 85% or 93% total and browsing in the chrome make it slow, reaching to 100%, in the future I won't do nothing while download.
the antivirus became normal after the download.
