You can either wait until later, or try choosing another download region (under "Steam" at the very top left of this UI, then "Settings"). You don't need to choose a location that's geographically near to you, in fact it's often better to go for one a LONG way away.
The CD key is not to blame, as it would otherwise state a message along those lines. If you're downloading direct from Steam, then this isn't even relevant.
As I said, IF the region doesn't help then it's fairly obvious it's going to be congestion - all you can do is wait and keep trying.
Also, note that if it doesn't work for one region, it's silly to leave it at that - there are over 90 different regions to try.
Aye, sadly it is. Douly so when you consider buying on release - that's when congestion is going to be at it's peak and for a substantial length of time.
Changed download region and working instantly.
