Steam declined my purchase "for protection of account holder" and I'd like to purchase my game.
I have already put in a support ticket regarding this, with no response as of yet to it.

I have made quite a few purchases on steam with no problems. I even made a purchase before this error/for your protection message occurred. However, for some reason, it would not let me complete my next purchases and has popped up with this message:

"For the protection of the account holder, this purchase has been declined. Further purchasing will be temporarily limited - please contact Steam Support to resolve this issue."

Now, if this is a safety feature of Steam, to help folk if their information is ever stolen, that is awesome but I cannot help but feel jilted as the legitimate card holder due to how long it is taking to "contact Steam Support" to get this cleared up so that I can make the purchases I want to make in time enough for this Halloween sale. I cannot find any phone number or any other way to contact steam to expedite the process of getting this issue taken care of in time to get my items at the sale prices.

If anyone has had this issue come up for them, pls let me know I'm not the only one this security feature is bothering. If this is a new security feature for steam, awesome, but they should have a way for legit card holders to get it taken care of quickly. Especially if sales only last a day!

I hope steam support gets back to me soon.
Lady.

Thank you, Satoru. I didn't know whether or not I am forced to wait for the email or if there was an easier and faster way to get in touch with Steam support. Thanks again.

Just to add, the basis for this is NOTHING to do with Steam - it's from the card issuer.

Steam are only the vendor - they are beholden to using the CHAPS system. If the provider refuses the handshake, that's what you'll get reported.

Update:

After posting having difficulties in this help forum, my steam support ticket got replied too. They were able to fix the issue. It does seem to be a flag/security thing from Steam as the response I got was to the effect of the flag has been removed and won't be flagged in the future.

I did however also call my bank, they had no knowledge of the purchases I was attempting to make.

Once the flag was removed by Support. I was able to make my purchases.
Thank you very much Support team. Appreciate it.

In that case, thank you, I stand corrected as I wasn't aware of anything like this on there end (although they have made some odd changes recently).

Thank you very much for the heads-up as this will sevre to help others in future.
