Evil Within Chapter 14 Stuck
Cannot proceed in the game. Created a link in Evil Within forum. http://steamcommunity.com/app/268050/discussions/0/619568793997355570/

"Just beat the boss. Every time I try to place a part on the circuit board (I can put them where theyre supposed to go with no problem), I exit out of the board and my character will not move. I can turn the camera and still pause the game via ESC but my character won't move whatsoever.

I can exit the game and reenter at the exact spot but whenever I try to use the board to progress my character is stuck in the same spot."

Sounds like a game stopping bug. I'd guess this can only be addressed by the developer, if they aren't answering on the Steam forum maybe you could locate and post on the official developer's forum instead?

Thanks for the response. I had a similar issue like this happen in an earlier chapter but reloading seemed to fix it. This however seems to be more serious as even after doing resaves via the local hub wont help at all.

Will try to find where I can submit this issue to the dev's.
If I were you, I'd also locate and make an immediate manual backup of the save files in case of corruption or loss with this issue. Just make a new folder on your desktop or something and copy them into it, so they will be there if needed.

that sux allot man. haven't encountered this issue myself. but i feel your pain. all i can say is, is to restart the chapter, and see if its fixing the issue on its own.

check your control options. try to reset them to defaults by hitting Del.

Hey guys, wanna say i've found temporary workaround. Reload from the save BEFORE BOSS and after you fix all and kill him DO NOT touch the fuse panel again. Even if it looks disabled.:special:

Thats the thing though, I never got to put the fuses into the circuit board before I fought the boss. It immediately prompted me to fix the generator after I put 1 piece in which led to the boss fight. And I guess Ill just have to restart the chapter since the auto save and chapter save are both after the boss fight.

I'll gladly try resetting the chapter once I have time later today. Curious to see if what you said will work.

Well basically you need only to get lift power on. But you can get 2 other fuses working and have some loot in other rooms. I fixed whole fusebox, got to the generator, killed the boss, fusebox seemed broken again after the boss-fight, but after i started generator again it worked just fine. If i would try to fix it again thou, it would bedisabled for real and game would stuck.

Here is exactly what I did Grumpy. I put the 1 piece that I looted off the side circuit board and put it running to the lift. The generator stopped working so I tried to fix it, which automatically leads to the boss. Killed the boss, generator was still working but even the part i had placed on the board was reset. So in all, the generator was still working but nothing was on the board. Almost at the area again, have only had like 15 mins to play so far today. Just got to the nurse missing so I know theres not much between.

Will update once I get to the area again later tonight. If the problem persists Ill have to contact a dev.

Try pressing C.

Thats not the problem at all. Once you exit the Board by pressing "C", the character cant move at all. The only thing I can do is free rotate the camera, and press ESC to pause. And when I do pause the only option that comes up is "Close [ESC]", the menu such as archives, options, etc. dont come up.

Finally have time to get back on the game today, should know if Grumpy's suggestion will work in an hour or less.

Managed to finally get past it. My only suggestion for those who play the pc port is to do as grumpy suggested. In that you make sure you place all 3 of the circuit board parts immediately before you touch the generator. Not sure why though, but the only difference I noticed was that in my glitched version, the generator was working after the boss fight and this time I had to fix it again after the boss.
