api64.dll issue

So I just got 'middle earth shadow of mordor' on my hp laptop. It had just finished installing so I tried to open it and I got this error message:
'This program can't start because steam_api64.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.'
At first I thought this wasn't a big deal and I installed a dll files fixer to solve the problem, but it didn't work.
Maybe I was just using it wrong somehow?
Anyway, does anyone know how to fix this error? I'm hoping that I won't have to reinstall the whole game because it took a LONG time, so I'm wondering if there's a way to fix it without having to reinstall it.
If the solution is that I have to install a dll files fixer, could you tell me how to use it because
(try not to laugh) I have no idea how to use it and if I'm doing something wrong, I don't know.

To install steam_api64.dll begin by starting the DLL-Files Fixer.
Click "Install DLL-Files"
Type steam_api64.dll in the search window, and click search
Click the steam_api64.dll in the search results, to continue to the install view.
Click "Install Recommended" to install suggested version, or click "Show alternative versions" to see all available versions of this file.

This installs the steam_api64.dll to C:\Windows\System32\ , the default location for 64bit dll-files on a 64bit Windows system.

However, you might have to copy the file to the same folder as the game-files.

You could also try to "Verify Game Cache Files" as described at https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
