Product code is invalid (NBA2K15)

Hi guys,

I got NBA2K15 via amazon and now I want to install the game, but when I enter the code I get the message that the product code is invalid. I live in Germany and now it should work (because todays also the release date here) but it doesnt. Yesterday it didnt work too (because amazon sometimes sends the games before the release date. I got it already yesterday). I need help!

Did u buy the game from Amazon.de
Othewise u may have received a code that was meant for a different region if u purchased from a different region website.

How did u try to activate? Did u go to Steam Client > Games > Activate a product on Steam

yes, it was from .de

on the left bottom, there stands "+ SPIEL HINZUFÜGEN" which means "+ add a game", then i go to "ein produkt bei steam aktivieren" which means "activate a product on steam". now i become the usual window with the product activation, i click on "more" and i accept the terms of using and i enter the code, but then comes the message with the invalid product code.

Then u will have to contact Steam Support
I would also contact Amazon and tell them what occurred and they code was refused by Steam. See what they say.

they gave me a link to a list with old games (for example with nba2k9 which is already 5 years old) but i cant do anything with this list.
maybe i have to try it tomorrow again...

Don't bother with Steam support, as they aren't likely to tell you much and they aren't the ones you should be dealing with.

As per European law, you return the faulty goods/service query to the place you bought it - Amazon. Just tell them the code you received was invalid. It could be they were given a batch of duff keys, or something. In any case, they MUST replace it, if you insist.

Yes just complain to place of purchase, get a refund.

It is quite possible that you have sold the game, which the code has already been activated. Insist strongly that you either have an activation code, or to give you back the money.

i dont think so because there would come the message that the code was already entered.

thank you all, i think i will return the game to amazon. do i also have to give back the preorder bonus?

Technically yes, although you don't have to remind them about it ;)
If they ask though, yes, you have to cough up.
