It won't work, again - this key is only for Rockstar Games' Social Club.

If you want the game on Steam, buy it on Steam.
The link you provided is for games with Steam marked as DRM; on Amazon.

GTAV on Amazon does not state Steam in the system requirements, so it is not a game that can be activated on Steam.

Rockstar uses it's own Social Club for games purchased through other retailers. As has been said, you can not activate that copy on Steam. You will have to download it from Amazon. The key is only valid through Rockstar's Social Club and will not work with Steam.

The post you linked to is for Deus Ex: Human Revolution[www.amazon.com]. That ones lists Steam in it's system requirements.
