Reassign keyboard keys.
Hello. I am having quite a problem. I'm using a friend's laptop to play, since I'm not home, and some keys do not work, and I quite need them. Is there a program to remap certain keys, or atleast a on-screen keyboard which would work in-game (Gmod, for example)... (this is a question, but the question mark doesn't work).
I'd be very thankful to find a solution.

If you're on windows 7 (probably the same in Vista and Win 8) - there is a built in on screen keyboard.

Windows 7, you can click on the start button and in the search bar just type in the word keyboard - you should see it bring up an option called "On-Scree Keyboard"

whats the brand and model of the laptop?

most are easy to replace
take out 2-4 screws from the bottom of the laptop and the keyboad will come out
then its a small ribbon cable

Yes, I use it for browsing, but doesn't work when gaming.

The problem is that it's a borrowed laptop, can't do pretty much anything to it. Told my friend about it , says he'll fix it in the future. it's a Toshiba Satellite L655. Found out about MS keyboard layout creator, will give it a try.

I use SharpKeys to remap, you could give it a go: http://www.randyrants.com/2011/12/sharpkeys_35/

just change the control config in the game settings. You are over complicating the whole thing.

If you have any keyboard settings in custom cfg files on your own computer, those keys may be unassigned if you use another computer without those files. So you may need to either reset default keys for those things while using the other computer, or assign specific keys you want to use for things that had their key assignments cleared.

I noticed that when running TF2 on my laptop which is another Source game. The cloud may assign keys that are in default files and have not be unbound/reassigned by custom files on another computer, but does not track custom key assignments that have been unbound or reassigned from custom files not on that computer.
