that's kind of weird, because my friends tend to import japanesse 3DS games that never even release in EU and they tend to work.
Can you not buy a prepaid debit card in the UK?
not anywhere that I know of. Will have an English account open soon enough, but so far it took me over 4 months to even verify my location with a UK bank.

for example check the game card for any pokemon game past black & white, it says USA, EU, etc. depending on your region
This is kind of like like justifying support for illegal poaching because no one else happens to be selling the ivory or skins you "want". Balancing your personal desires with moral responsibilities is what makes a person's integrity. It's better to do without a nonessential item in question for a while rather than support what could be a stolen sale or other illegal activity.
Sooo... I should not play games or give money to the MMOs that I like? Also "bought with stolen cards". Can you find me a single article of an instance where it says that this has actually happened? Because I can't find any evidence of it anywhere. :I
What are even you talking about, giving money to MMO's you like? I'm saying just don't purchase things from shady grey market sites even if they're "the only one who has the item."
Example of games bought with stolen cards, a VERY huge and recent public example in fact. You must not be looking very hard:

G2A. Not CDkeys. (see? Their name even gets bleeped out)
And like I said, so I should feel free to not support conpanies that I like, because their services are unatainable to me in other means. GOG technically is also illegal in ways, yet thank god GOG exists else so many products would just get forgotten entirely.
umm, GoG is not illegal in any way. All the software they sell they are licensed to do so by the publishers/developers who own the IPs of those games.
Anyways, you buying from from gray market may not even being supporting the developers if the stuff was stolen in some way including the use of stolen credit cards.
Just because Valve doesn't currently have a filter for that particular site doesn't mean it's a legit licensed reseller - which obviously being associated with that other site it is not.
The article I quoted is a very legitimate and current example of why these shady key sites are a bad thing and mentions exactly what you asked for - cd keys that were bought with stolen cards - yet you clearly are ignoring that in favor of arguing semantics.
GOG isn't "illegal", GOG is a LICENSED reseller. You clearly do not know, or care to understand, the difference.
Just because you can't find what you want when you want it at the price you want doesn't justify buying it from a grey market that supports the offloading of stolen/fraudulent goods onto unknowing customers.
Do you not understand that you are not supporting those companies and games you like when you purchase from grey market shops because it's likely that what you are buying from the shady key shops was stolen from the developers of the game or the publishers in the first place? These sites support theft and other crimes, it's that simple. I advise everyone NOT to purchase from any unlicensed key shops. It's not worth it just to save some money, plus you run risks with your Steam account if you buy Steam games on there.
Well said. People usually don't care because they get games for cheap....but that money doesn't go toward the industry. It goes to sites that support fraud. Not to mention that shady key sites screw customers over regularly. One charges you more money so that you are more likely to actually get the product you pay for. What a joke.
i love you
GoG started out as a reseller for very old games, that were abandonware. They were not licensed. They were literally abandon ware. And that is the profit that the site was running off.
