Mic isnt working in games, cs:go, dota 2
Just purchased the logitech g230's, and selected all the correct microphone options in the audio settings, selected the correct mic in the steam audio settings as well. The steam mic test will work, the voice recorder will playback my voice fine, it shows it is clearly picking up audio, but as soon as I get into a counter strike game or dota match, the mic just doesnt work. I have verified game cache for cs go, rebooted my pc, used every audio option combination you can, did the "voice_enable" in cs console, I have tried everything. Please help.

I have seen these posts before about mic issues with the games you posted about here. Have you checked the game forum for each game on the issue ? You can search there and post also if you need to.

have you tried to turn up the volume, yet? sometimes when i cant hear others talk it's because the audio levels aren't set to be high enough for it to be audible to me...

Yeah I attempted every audio/sound option I really could. Eventually I was able to use my mic in cs using only the "push to talk option", the mic still wouldnt work with open mic enabled, but with that being said I was told numerous times that my mic was terrible, trash, etc. I returned the mic today, and went ahead and ordered a higher quality, usb headset, so hopefully that resolves the issue somewhat.

Yeah I read quite a few forums on the mic issue, and apparently a lot of people have the problem on valve games. Eventually my mic worked in cs, but the quality was just terrible. Hopefully the new headset im getting resolves the issue.

First go into Steam settings and put the mic you want to use. Then, go into -sound- in control panel, select the recording tab, right click on the mic you're using and select 'set as default device'
