How do I watch my own broadcast?
I want to sign into Steam on a separate computer and broadcast my game to it (to display on a TV). I have broadcasting enabled, but can't seem to figure out where my own broadcast is.

Log in using another Steam account.

Using the same account. According to Google results, this is possible, but no one seems to have legible instructions.

Have you asked in the Steam broadcasting forum?

Nevermind, I found it. For the record, you go to your profile, and there is a watch button.

There is unfortunately a pretty long delay in the stream... Similar to the delay when using Twitch. I have done this before using in-home streaming to broadcast to the TV but still play on my laptop, but sometimes I have trouble getting it started. But using that method, the stream is almost real-time.

They recently took away the watch button.

On the mobile app, you're unable to view broadcasts.

Watch button was disable / removed.

To start force watch on yourself, or get the link to give to your friends, or can just right click on friends from frined list, and click invite to watch. May take a minute or two for broadcast to start up.

To watch yourself, open overlay, click settings, then click on word "Not Broadcasting" if you're already btoadcasting, the word "Not" will be removed, and say "Broadcasting", click on the word, and open a link page, may need refresh page couple times, best to do it via broswer instead, of using overlay broswer.

If I had to guess it's because of what you're watching.

Let me explain. If you are TRULY watching the stream as it appears to other people (in audio circles there's a name for this - monitor, literally) then it will delay, simply because what you're seeing is the stream going out from you to whatever servers, and then back again.

I would guess the non-delayed stream is just a pickup of what's going out from your end, which is fine, but it won't tell you if there's problems further down the line.

If you don't understand what I mean, perhaps my audio analogy serves better - on old tape machines when you're recording you typically have at least two tape heads - the play head, and the record/eras head. Sometimes you have 3 or more, but I won't go into that.

The point is here that the play head is a couple of centimetres apart from the record head and by the direction of the tape travel it passes over the record head first. Now if you're monitoring your record properly, it will take the signal from the play head (as it is literally listening to what you've already recorded and playing it back) so you can monitor if it's recording properly.

So if you switch back between monitor and record, you'l hear a delay, because you're picking up the same recording a fraction of a second later.

So this is similar in effect to what you experience. In other words, if you're watching and there's a delay that is a TRUE monitor.
