I can't get games that are considered "Steam Games" that I downloaded by disc onto my steam account.
I downloaded Borderlands and Fallout 3 onto my computer by disc but they did not automatically download onto my steam account and i can't figure out how to get them on. I tried to "Add a non-steam game to your library." but they don't even show up on the list of avaliable programs to add to steam. :/ plz help. thx :csgogun::csgohelmet:

Did you check the folder where you downloaded the games to?

For Borderlands, you can convert this into a Steam game. Check this news article.

No idea about Fallout. I don't have that game, but I'm guessing there's no way to turn it into a Steam game.

Not all retail versions will activate on Steam. You can try using the CD-Key that came with them.

In the Steam Client, at the top, click "Games" then "Activate a Product on Steam". If it states invalid code, then you can not add that game to Steam.

Borderlands 1 and Fallout 3 have some retail copies that were not intended for use with Steam. either because Steam wasn't around at that time or still in its infantsy.

Fallout 3 is on my steam account now but steam is still not considering it a "steam game" oh well :p

If I remember correctly, the Steam version of Fallout 3 used Steam and Games For Windows Live but the retail version only used GFWL... so that version will always be a non-Steam game.
