I'm curious about this as well. I stupidly clicked the link, but canceled it half way through. I tried opening the file and it stated it was corrupted. I've already scanned with MSE, I know it's crap, AVG, and MalwareBytes, and I haven't seen anything come up. I can assume I'm safe for the most part, but I understand that there's always a risk factor even without results on scans.
If a link ever looks supicious to you, you can use http://urlrevealer.com/ and see where a link is really sending you. You'll notice with this particular case that the URL is actually sending you to a Google Drive account that's hosting this malware file.

Let's find Alex Star and kill him.
Also, the "SteamStealer" is the application and he has it on his desktop... really an idiot.
Only question, did he write this himself or is it a downloadable malwaring device? This is ,like, the only and most important thing in the case.
I never install a executable file unless i trust it but i have been scouring the forums looking for someone to tell me if it auto installs or if i had to run the exec but you answered my question properly and now I can stop running all my AV software and being paranoid.
If you can get virus form this on a mac, what is a good anti virus program to use.
Any help is appreciated.
